Hyperkin to Exhibit at Classic Gaming Expo 2010 in Vegas

Hyperkin, an emerging developer of video game peripherals, has announced that it will exhibit at the annual Classic Gaming Expo July 31st – August 1st at the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas. In addition to a vast arsenal of video game accessories for current platforms like Sony PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii and Microsost Xbox, Hyperkin also specializes in producing accessories for classic game systems like NES, SNES and SEGA Genesis.

Hyperkin plans to exhibit several retro game products at the Expo including its recently launched Retron 3 video Game System which combines NES, SNES and Genesis into one self-contained platform.

Described as "the world's first and largest event paying tribute to the people, systems and games of yesteryear," the Classic Gaming Expo provides a forum for celebrating the history of video games and offers vendors, retailers and gamers an opportunity to share their enthusiasm for classic video games, platforms and accessories.

In addition to the Retron 3, Hyperkin will exhibit numerous retro products at the Expo including the Retron 1 for NES; Gen Mobile handheld system for SEGA Genesis; C2 Video Game System for NES and SNES; and many others.

"The Classic Gaming Expo is a perfect opportunity for us to display our full line of retro products," stated Steven Mar, Hyperkin's Marketing Director. "There is a huge market for classic games and classic game systems. Gamers of all ages still enjoy the simplicity and nostalgia of the old platforms, no doubt about it. Because of that, we maintain a large catalog of affordable and well designed retro systems and accessories."

Tough Non-Slip Dance Platform Coverage (Posted: July 22, 2010)
Gamertell

The new dance mat features a high-grad EVA dancing surface that significantly reduces tearing on the mat. Also, its tough padding will ensure that the corners of the mat will not curl up over extended use, which can damage the mat over time. The non-slip material used to create the mat is made from specially designed microfiber material that prevents the platform from moving around on carpet or hardwood floors, which we all know can mess up your game.

Hyperkin hopes that this new mat will bring a whole new experience to DDR players because the mat will hold up better then the previous mats, plus the new design makes the mat easier to use and makes it less likely to get damaged. Plus the whole pad folds up nicely for storage.

These days, emulation makes having old school consoles hooked up to your TV pretty unnecessary. But if you must play Chrono Trigger from the original cartridge, the RetroN 3 is a pretty great way to do it.

In addition to having three cartridge slots for NES, SNES and Genesis games, respectively, it also has ports for all three systems' original controllers. If you don't have any kicking around, it comes with two generic wireless controllers. But really, if you've got stacks of old cartridges and want to have one system plugged into your TV instead of three, this is a pretty sweet solution. It's available now for a mere $70.

engadget

Available in retro-futurist red or sober, serious black, the RetroN 3 gaming system is compatible with your Nintendo, Sega Genesis, and SNES cartridges. And if that weren't enough for you (it seldom is, is it?) you can use a pair of the original controllers from either of those three systems. If that seems too awesome, it also packs its own wireless controllers. Available now for $70.

Dig That Box

The Retro N3 by Hyperkin is voted best retro gaming product at E3 by Dig That Box. The machine sports three different cartridge ports. It can run games from the NES/Famicom, SNES/SFC and the Genesis/MegaDrive. There are also SIX controller ports, each designed to use vintage controllers and accessories from the 3 classic systems. The machine also comes with two wireless controllers, created in the style of the classic six button Sega Genesis controller. The machine comes in two colors, sporty red and classic gun metal grey. Features also include S-Video support. Although the machine will not run 100% of your classic gaming library, the console is well worth the meager price. You definitely get a lot for your money. And this console is a great addition to any modern gaming collection. Its the perfect way to squeeze some retro gaming into your life. Visit digthatbox.com for more E3 coverage.

Game Vortex

The RetroN 3 is designed to work with almost the entire library of games for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), Super Nintendo (SNES) and SEGA Genesis games. Simply get your hands on the original game cartridges, give them a good blow for luck, then insert them into the RetroN 3 and you're ready to play any of the games in your retro library from back in the day on these three systems.

If you already have these systems, the RetroN 3 would be a nice way to consolidate your games into a single unit, reducing clutter in your entertainment system. It also would be a nice system to take on trips or to introduce the younger generations to the games that started it all.

E3 2010 (Posted: June 23, 2010)

We’re back from E3 and want to share our gratitude and excitement about the tremendous success Hyperkin enjoyed at the show!

This was our best year yet at E3 and we were overwhelmed by an endless flow of journalists, retailers, buyers and gamers who visited our booth.

According to reports, there were more than 45,000 attendees from more than 90 countries at E3 this year. This is an indication that the video game industry is still going strong, despite the weak economy. Video games are a significant force in the world of consumer electronics and personal entertainment, and we are proud to be a part of such a powerful industry.

Hyperkin launched several new products at the show including the RetroN 3 and the DDR Tough Nonslip Dance Platform and the response we received was amazing. Each day we had the privilege to speak with dozens of journalists from around the world, all of whom expressed unanimous enthusiasm for the products we had on display.

Equally important, the retailers, buyers and gamers who visited our booth each day were thrilled by the wide range of innovative peripherals we offer.

2010 is proving to be an incredibly successful year for Hyperkin as we continue to expand our line of video game accessories. We anticipate continued growth in the fall and through the holiday season and look forward to sharing our success with all of our friends, colleagues and business partners.

Play Well. Live Well.

3-Port USB Hub REVIEW (Posted: May 7, 2010)
Bag of Mad Bastards

For those of you that don't have a launch system that came loaded with four ports, and especially fans of Rock Band or Guitar Hero, this is probably enough to make the hub a worthwhile buy. Add to that a memory card reader that supports SD, SDHC, MMC and Memory Stick (without an adapter), and you can see the allure. Essentially, if you have a two-port, no memory card slot PS3, Hyperkin is giving you the option to expand your machine to 'launch system' specifications.

While it's not a powered hub, it's still a great option, and fills a need for gamers that have a newer Playstation, and it does all of it at an affordable price. It's aesthetically pleasing, and I intend to leave it 'permanently' attached to my 40GB PS3. I can't think of a more fitting way to recommend a product.

Text Link Remote REVIEW (Posted: May 7, 2010)
Fraggs.net

When we were told about the Hyperskin Text Link Remote for the Playstation 3 our jaws hit the floor. The idea itself is brilliant. A device that is the size of a standard remote, but functions as a way to control any aspect of your Playstation 3. Seriously, any function.

Overall this is a great product if your looking to combine your controllers and remotes and you utilize all of the PS3's features like the web browser, blu-ray player, media, etc. We wish the build was a bit better but right now there's nothing better on the market that will do what the remote does.

Text Link Remote REVIEW (Posted: April 23, 2010)
Bright Hub

Overall, I found using the Text Link Remote easier and more efficient than navigating with a gamepad, not to mention the fact that it eliminates the need to have the Sony Bluetooth remote always at hand. Entering codes for PS3 games becomes a lot easier too.

The gamepad aspects work well, although someone with large hands like myself can see the advantage of keeping a wireless gamepad nearby. But as an all purpose device for working the PS3, not to mention easing the burden of text messaging one heck of a lot, it's hard not to like the Text Link Remote.

PS3 3-Port USB Hub (Posted: April 22, 2010)

Hyperkin, a rapidly growing developer and distributor of video game accessories, has announced the launch of the PS3 3-Port USB Hub which connects three additional controller outlets to the PlayStation 3. In addition to the controller outlets, the 3-Port USB Hub has also been designed with a memory card slot that accepts SD cards, SDHC cards, MMC cards, and memory sticks. The PS3 Hub is also compatible with PS3 Slim and personal computers.

Hyperkin's USB Hub is unique because it connects to the PS3 via an extension cable that plugs into one of the platforms two controller ports, thereby leaving the second port accessible while adding three new controller ports (the hub can also be attached directly to the PS3 without the extension cable). Now with the help of the USB Hub, the PS3 can accept 4 controllers.

Even better, the USB Hub is only $14.99 and is designed with a built-in memory slot to accommodate a host of memory devices.

Product Highlights:

- Provides 3 additional controller ports (4 controller ports total when in use)

- Compatible with PS3, PS3 Slim and PC's

- Built-in Memory accommodates SD cards, SDHC cards, MMC cards, memory sticks

- Includes optional 6' USB Extension Cable

- Available: Now

- Suggested Retail: $14.99

"This is a great product at a great price," commented Steven Mar, Hyperkin's Marketing Director. "Playing video games is a great social medium, particularly with unified online games. Our USB Hub offers easiest way possible to expand the amount of friends that can play together on the PS3 at one time."

Text Link Remote REVIEW (Posted: April 21, 2010)
Game Boyz

As a remote this unit does what it is supposed to. It plays, pauses, fast forwards, rewinds and stops Blu-rays and DVDs. The biggest issue I found here is with the face buttons placements. There were many occasions of unintentional pressing of other buttons while trying to hit specific ones. The navigation 'arrow' buttons are very closely placed to the triangle, square, circle and 'x' buttons. Their placement is so close that you will have to watch closely as you press the button you desire. This can be troublesome in a dark room. As well, I become accustomed to button placement by touch, but given the close proximity of buttons to one another on this remote hitting others occurs more often than not and this can be aggravating given that the PS3 does something I don't want it to.

At the end of the day I do applaud Hyperkin for taking an innovative approach to making a third party remote that gamers can use with their PS3. Instead of taking the lazy way out and making a generic remote, they took a look outside of the box and tried something much different than those in the past. There is no doubt that there are some issues with this remote, as noted above, but these can definitely be fixed in the next version that they could release, and I do suggest they release an improved model. All things considered, most may find something to like about this controller, but others may find the noted issues not worth the effort.

Text Link Remote REVIEW (Posted: April 15, 2010)
Pixelated Geek

I was really excited to get to try out the Text Link Remote. Figuring that it could be that in between device that covers my remote and keyboard needs. The Text Link remote is a smaller cellphone sized Remote. It has a very nice weight to it, not to heavy but still heavy enough not to feel cheap.

A pretty interesting addition to the PS3 accessories. It does function as a pretty descent remote, though the keyboard leaves something to be desired. If you are looking for that in between device and have smaller hands this certainly could be up your alley.

SOUND PLUS REVIEW (Posted: April 13, 2010)
2D-X.com

Sporting a $19.99 MSRP, each accessory (available in white, pink, or blue) is priced to move, and if you're looking for reliability and safety then the money won't be wasted. Your only really issue will be with finding storage space for the rackets since they're fairly large, but I suppose that's the price you pay for most gaming accessories anyway.

So what's the verdict on the Wii Sound Plus accessories? My girlfriend hasn't stopped playing with it since I got it so either it's a decent product or I need a new girlfriend. You can find these along with some other really cool products for the Wii and other systems at Hyperkin's website.

SOUND PLUS REVIEW (Posted: April 13, 2010)
Pure Nintendo

To the parents: I highly recommend running out and adding this to your ever growing pile of Wii accessories. No child wouldn't love this. To the gamer: It would be a little embarrassing if you were caught playing with one of these alone, but go ahead and break it out when you are doing some Wii-vangelism (this is when you spread some Wii love to friends for the first time).

SOUND PLUS REVIEW (Posted: April 13, 2010)
Connect with Your Teens through Pop Culture and Technology

Although there are other brands on the market that make Wii accessories that have the look of the sports equipment, what makes Hyperkin's line unique is the Sound Plus. Now you can actually hear the sound of bat hitting a ball or the swing of your racket. These products are also compatible with Wii Motion Plus to make them even more realistic. All this and each product is priced under $20.

Just think of the fun your family can have together playing tennis, baseball or golf no matter what the weather. And since many teens might not want to actually go out and play games with their parents in public, Wii sports games are a nice way to still get that bonding at home. These Wii Sound Plus accessories will make you feel like you really are playing the real game.

SOUND PLUS REVIEW (Posted: April 2, 2010)
UnNamed Gaming

Both devices are made out of the same materials and both have an overall good build quality to them. Luckily the golf club included with this kit is a bit longer than the baseball bat and two are included in each package, not a bad deal for $19.99. All of the available Sound Plus items (golf, baseball and the tennis kit which we didn't receive) are available in three different colors; white, blue and pink. The photos I used in this review are all stock photos, the review units we received were pink (the baseball kit) and blue (the golf kit), sure I could make a wise crack about me using a pink baseball bat but I won't, they all work the same no matter the color.

The Wii Baseball Bat with Sound Plus lets you feel and hear every swing of your baseball bat as though you were hitting home runs at AT&T ballpark (Go Giants!). The Hyperkin Wii Baseball bat is made from a soft foam material so you won't kill your TV if you loose your grip or in excitement throw your bat down running imaginary bases (I so would do that)!

Since I just picked up my PS3 this past weekend, I'm only scratching the surface of how versatile the machine is. Hyperkin has developed a device that appeals to me on a variety of levels. It's called the PS3 Text Link Remote. It has a sliding QWERTY keyboard, the keys of a game controller, and the functionality of a remote control. It has a USB charging cable and comes in at the price of $39.99.

So, what can be better then having a remote control with a built in slide QWERTY board that is designed to work specifically with the Playstation 3's Home Network? That's right, you got nothing.

This remote is first third party remote developed to control your Blu-ray, DVD's CD's and other media files with the click of a button. As well, with the QWERTY board function, you are able to sent text messages via the Playstation Network, and play Playstation games with the analog stick.

SOUND PLUS REVIEW (Posted: March 16, 2010)
Bright Hub

The real attraction of the Golf kit and the Baseball kit is the "Sound Plus"-- which is to say that there is an audio speaker and rumbler effect working inside each of these that integrates with the Wiimote and what is happening onscreen.

It's not only smart but sensible - the "thunk" effect of a ball hitting a bat or the "twak" of a cub striking a ball both are experiences that are almost ingrained into our subconscious - we expect to hear that sound and feel that throbbing along our muscles. The bass rumble and (apparently) less than sophisticated rending of the effect is perfectly suited for these two accessories - not to mention keeping the price down to a manageable amount.

SOUND PLUS REVIEW (Posted: March 15, 2010)
Bag of Mad Bastards

The feature that separates the Wii Sound Plus from other peripherals is the "Built-in Sound Device". This feature is designed so that when you swing the tennis racket or baseball bat, a device inside it slides and you hear the sound of hitting something as well as a little bit of feeling that something is being hit.

Overall, a very simple design but works quite well and adds a bit more immersion to a game. If you have a motion plus sensor attached to your controller, there is no need to remove it as it will fit into either of the kits.

SOUND PLUS (Posted: March 2, 2010)

Nintendo Wii fanatics can finally hear more than just their own grunts as they swing through their favorite sports titles. Hyperkin, an emerging developer of video game accessories, has announced the launch of its patent-pending Sound Plus Sports Kits for Nintendo Wii that are designed with an internal sound device that simulates the noise, or pop, a baseball bat, tennis racket or golf club makes when it makes contact with its target.

The Sound Plus accessories were designed to add a new level of realism and sensory immersion to Wii sports titles. Made from soft, sturdy foam material, the Sound Plus Sports Kits are also Wii Motion Plus compatible.

Product Highlights:

- Built-in Internal Sound Device

- Accurately simulates the sounds of a baseball bat, tennis ball or golf ball being struck

- Motion Plus compatible

- Patent pending technology

- Soft, durable and safe foam design

- Available in White, Blue and Pink

- Available: Now

- Suggested Retail: $19.99

"The Sound Plus was created to add a new level of sensory immersion to the Wii experience," says Steven Mar, Hyperkin's Marketing Director. "Hearing each swing, the simulated sound of contact, adds a whole new level of fun and excitement to playing Wii sports games."

The launch of the Sound Plus Sports Kits is the latest addition to Hyperkin's growing offering of innovative, cost-effective peripherals for the video game market.
